Characterisation
Introduces children to scene work. They will be
divided into smaller groups and asked to interpret written scenes and
characters. These scenes will then be performed at the final
showcase.
Stagecraft
Each child is given the opportunity to shine
with their individual roles. It is also important to learn where to stand, how
to walk and speak on the stage which is very different to everyday life. They
learn the importance of stagecraft and will practice daily on the workshop
stage.
Drama classes are a
wonderful outlet for a child’s creative energy.
Each child is different in levels of
confidence and experience but we nurture the talent on an individual level. Many
children often become more confident once they have performed on stage and this
often benefits them in their everyday life. We aim to provide a fun and exciting
environment where they can learn all facets of drama including voice production,
improvisation, characterisation and
stagecraft.
Voice production
Classes always begin with fun, energetic
warm-up games to get the juices flowing. It is essential to warm up the voice
and focus on pronunciation and vocal production with various vocal techniques
including tongue twisters, consonant and vowel
work.
Improvisation
Improvisation launches children into
imaginative work by introducing various scenarios where they will be asked to
use props and costume to inspire characters and situational scenes. Other games
such as stage jump and word association are also used.
